CLIENT: ON BEHALF OF REPOWER

ROLE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

CASE STUDY:Internal magazines are a strange brief. The audience is captive but not always engaged, and the content structure usually arrives before you do. The design has to earn attention that isn't guaranteed. Insight was Repower's quarterly internal magazine. I handled the full visual concept, layout design, and graphic development across every issue. The editorial sections were set before I got involved, but within that framework I had genuine creative freedom, which is often where the most interesting work happens. My favourite section was News. Rather than using headshots or stock imagery, I illustrated and caricatured the people featured in each story. It gave the section a completely different energy. Colleagues were looking for themselves, looking for people they knew. That kind of engagement is hard to manufac-ture and very easy to lose if the design plays it too safe.
