CASE STUDY: Lucaniae didn't exist yet when this project started. No name, no logo, no website, no packaging. Just an idea and an exceptional product: an extra virgin olive oil produced by a family from the Basilicata region in southern Italy, historically known as Lucania. The name came from there, with the final "e" added as a nod to the region's ancient Greek roots. The brief was to build everything from scratch. I developed the full brand identity, from the name rationale and logo to colour palette, typography and visual language, then carried it across packaging, a website, and social media content and strategy. The brand feels rooted and refined, honest about where it comes from without being folksy about it. Lucaniae now sells through a loyal base of recurring custo-mers and supplies Vita Maia, a local products association in Oegstgeest. Social media support has since paused as the family production couldn't scale further, but the product keeps finding its people.
