Via Energia
CLIENT: ON BEHALF OF REPOWER
ROLE: COMMUNICATIONS DESIGNER
CASE STUDY: Most wayfinding design tells you where you are. This project wanted to do more than that. As part of an initiative connecting Switzerland's natural landscapes with Repower's energy infrastructure, I developed a series of informational panels installed along hiking trails that pass near the company's production plants. The audience ranged from tourists with no prior knowledge of Repower to local visitors who already knew the terrain. Each panel combined several layers of information: an illustrated route map, a marker for the walker's current position, contextual information about the surrounding area and the nearby plant, and educational content about energy production specific to that location. At the far right of every panel, a QR code linked to an interactive quiz, for people who wanted to go further than just reading. The panels had to be intuitive, visually engaging, and built to survive alpine weather. Designing something that works at a glance, outdoors, for a mixed audience, while carrying real educational content, is a different kind of problem from anything you solve on a screen.
